Bareilly: Pre-PhD coursework in Hindi, English, Sanskrit and Urdu was formally inaugurated at the Centre for Multilingual Excellence under the Faculty of Languages at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University on Friday.
The programme began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, in which newly admitted research scholars participated. The inaugural session focused on familiarising scholars with the academic framework, procedures and guidelines associated with the Pre-PhD coursework.
Professor Anita Tyagi, Head of the Department of Humanities and Coordinator of the Pre-PhD Coursework, briefed the research scholars about the rules, procedures and essential academic requirements of the programme. She discussed the research process, various stages of conducting research and important academic aspects that scholars need to keep in mind during their research journey.
The scholars also raised several questions and shared their queries regarding research methodology, academic regulations and the coursework. Professor Tyagi addressed their concerns and provided detailed guidance and clarification.
Emphasising the importance of consistency, originality, academic discipline and seriousness in research, she encouraged the newly admitted scholars to maintain high academic standards throughout their research work. She also extended her best wishes to all the scholars for a successful research journey and a bright future.
Under the Pre-PhD coursework programme, regular classes will be conducted according to the prescribed curriculum. Along with research methodology and subject-specific studies, the coursework will include various academic activities aimed at developing the foundational understanding and skills required for advanced research.
With the inaugural programme, the regular academic activities of the Pre-PhD coursework officially commenced at the university.
